in my (seemingly neverending) quest to teach myself things that i didn’t learn in school, i am starting a new project. i am going to try to design bookcovers, without much of a clue as to how that process works. i made up this cover this afternoon, using an old photo of mine, and an idea for a book title that has been rolling around in my head for a while. obviously, covers i make in the future will be meant to cover both sides of a book, and have all the important details (author, etc.) but i thought this was a starting point. plus, i think sentimental posters are an idea in their prime.
Went to an amazing show last night during the Last Thursday art walk/party. It’s up at Ampersand, a ridiculously cool store on Alberta near my studio. The show is a bunch of old photobooth photos, many that were quite old. Really amazing stuff. The first image in this post is my favorite, isn’t she beautiful?
i’d give anything to run through a snowy field right now. it’s going to be 101 degrees today.

worked on this print/painting this evening… not sure if i like what’s happening with the grass. i guess i’ll look at it again in the morning.
Back home.
I’m back at home, and trying to get some work done, taking photos of some leftover merch from Renegade. Frida has other plans, though.
The Sears Tower in Chicago just added these crazy glass balconies. Can you imagine how much fun it must be to stand in the corner? I read about it here.
I want this dress, from Built By Wendy. So badly. It’s 50% off, but I am still having trouble justifying it. I guess this isn’t so much something “Nina might like” as much as it’s something Nina might appreciate me liking. She is much better dressed than I am.
Edit: UGH! I just talked myself into ordering it, when I realize it’s out of stock in my size. Bummer-tastic. But hey, I just saved myself $90!
