Don’t know why I thought it was such a good idea to try to read a book a week again this year. I am quite behind on this goal. However, here is a list of what I have read so far, in case you are interested. (top two images are exerpts from Maira Kalman’s book, which is the best book I’ve read so far this year.)

Michael Pollan, In Defense of Food
Maira Kalman, The Principles of Uncertainty
Shalom Auslander, Foreskin’s Lament
Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet
William McDonough & Michael Braungart, Cradle to Cradle
Bill Buford, Heat
Steve Martin, Born Standing Up
Michael Pollan, The Botany of Desire
Alain de Botton, Status Anxiety
Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina
David Sedaris, When You Are Engulfed in Flames
Natalie Angier, The Canon
Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Coney Island of the Mind
Benazir Bhutto, Reconciliation
Pablo Neruda, Love Poems

Oh the wonderful things people can do with post-its. If you happen to have 6000 post-its sitting around, I’d suggest you get busy, cause these guys are showing you up.

Read about it on black eiffel.

Saw this room on design*sponge a while back, and I can’t get it out of my brain. I would never be brave enough to paint a room in such dark colors (even the wood floor is painted dark grey!), since there is always that distinct possibility of it looking like a cave. That hilarious pink table, and the cool yellow accents around the room are perfect, though, and now I’m wishing I owned my own place so I could paint everything grey.
