I don’t really think I’d call it “subversive,” but a group of younger artists took over the LACMA and basically turned it into a summer camp for artists. Not too sure how subversive it could possibly be if one of the summer camp activities is recreating a Sam Francis painting out of flowers, but at least they tried. Best quote from the article: “Visiting a museum can be like visiting a very rich person’s house, where you feel pressure to admire the furniture.”
